Middleman sukesh’s custody extended till Oct12

A court here today extended till October 12 the custody of middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in connection with a seven-year-old cheating case in the city.

Sukesh, who was arrested by Delhi Police for his alleged attempt to bribe an Election Commission official on behalf of AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran for the Two Leaves symbol, and lodged in Tihar Jail, was brought here by Delhi police and produced before,the Second Judicial Magistrate court this morning.

The accused, along with his father, had allegedly cheated a kitchen equipment dealer Rajavelu of Rs 2.43 lakh on the promise of securing tenders from Karnataka government in 2010. The chargesheet in this regard was
framed on July 20.

Magistrate Rajkumar posted the case for October 12 and Sukesh was later taken to Delhi by train amid tight security.
