Minister’s PA released after three hours

Coimbatore, Sept 23 : Hardly three hours after abducting the personal assistant (PA) of Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry Minister, Udumalai K Radhakrishnan from his office in Udumalpet in Tirupur district on Wednesday,
a gang of four released him in Dhali, some 10 Kms from the place of occurance.

According to police, the gang, face covered with clothes, entered the MLA’s office, where the PA Karnan was sitting and abducted him at knife point and forced him to a waiting car around 11.30 AM. The minister was not in the office, while a female staff was there, when the incident happened, police said.

The CCTV footage revealed that three members went inside the office and returned with Karnan, while another person was standing outside watching the movement. Even as Tirupur District SP, Disha Mittal and other senior officials arrived at the scene and inquirying, vehicle checks were intensified
on Tirupur-Pollach road and nearby Highways, police said.

However, to the surprise, the gang abandoned Karnan at Dhali around 2.45 PM, who returned to office and efforts were on to track the abductors and to ascertain the reason for the kidnapping, police said
