A new mobile application to help women in emergency situations has been launched by App Find Me Solutions, a wing of CMC Group.

The ‘GPS Directory’ is aimed at helping women in emergency situations like harassment and can be downloaded from Google Play Store and iOS App Store, group chairman SI Nathan told mediapersons here.

The highlight of the app, launched by actor Sneha, is the ‘SOS’ feature where a pressing of a key will send messages for help from the pre-selected contacts and also from the nearby logged-in GPS Directory App users.

Nathan said he was prompted to come out with the app, considering the difficulties and harassment faced by women today.

Project manager Kavitha Jagannathan said the mobile application would be a revolution in the way of sharing addresses and in future will be replaced by a six-digit alphanumeric code.

The app also serves as a local search engine, providing information on hospitals, schools, banks, ATMs and even Tasmac outlets, and all other public and private organisations, Kavitha added.
