The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) on Friday met with the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) and stake holders to discuss the Chief Minister’s Solar Rooftop Capital Incentive Scheme here.

Senior CCMC officials said that the Corporation was looking to increase the installation of solar panels from the current 3,500 to 10,000 in order to use energy efficiently, also with up to 50 per cent State government subsidy for the same. CCMC had already installed solar panels in its main building at the corporation.

During the discussion, the officials also invited applicants from the public to avail the scheme as soon as possible. “People can either apply online or directly approach the Corporation office with necessary documents,” an official said.

Officials including Corporation Commissioner K Viayakarthikeyan and Additional Chief of Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) Dr. Jag Mohan Singh Raju also attended the event.
