Mother and child run over by lorry

In a tragic incident, a woman and her one-year old child were run over by a lorry coming from behind, after they fell from the two-wheeler at Mahendranmedu on Palakkad Main Road, today.
The mother, 24-year old Suganya, along with one-year old Darshanshree, was travelling pillion on her husband’s scooter. They were on the way to the city from Poonamparai in Palakkad.
Suddenly Suganya and Darshanashree slipped and fell from the two-wheeler on the road and a lorry coming from behind ran over them, killing them on the spot, police said.
The husband escaped unhurt and further investigations are on.
