Motorcycle rider killed in accident

A 21-year old youth succumbed to injuries after his motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus near Vadavalli here on Sunday.

According to sources, S. Vishwa, from Viluppuram was reportedly riding towards Marudamalai along with R. Guruprasad (21) from Vadavalli. When their two-wheeler was nearing the BSNL office in Vadavalli a TNSTC bus collided head on with the motorcycle.

The two were rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. However, Vishwa succumbed to injuries on the way and Guruprasad is being treated at the CMCH.

A case has been registered with the Vadavalli traffic police and efforts are on to arrest the TNSTC bus driver M. Mani.
