The Madras Regiment Centre (MRC) at Wellington near Udhagamandalam is becoming a major tourist attraction and a must stop for the people.

MRC recently opened its gates of the heritage barracks for the public and tourists. One of its kind, it was constructed way back in 1851. The architectural marvel of the barracks and the valiant Madras Soldiers’ parading on the shimmering tarmac of the Barrack Square left the visitors speechless.

The recently installed statues of Madras Soldiers in varied assault positions on a marvelous landscape, brightly lit up with fountains, is another attraction to tourists of the Nilgiris. It makes the trip even more memorable than ever before, as MRC has been a home away from home to the valiant soldiers.
