Multiple organs harvested from brain dead man

Multiple organs including liver and kidneys were harvested from a brain dead man and transplanted to different patients here on Thursday.

According to sources, S.Dhandabani (50) was reportedly running a Computer centre at Dharapuram and was admitted with the PSG Hospitals due to a brain stroke. However, he was declared brain dead by the doctors on Thursday morning.

After approval from his family, a team of doctors had conducted a surgery and harvested vital organs from his remains around 6.00 am on Thursday. The harvested organs were transplanted to different private hospital in the city on the same day. While the liver was transplanted to a patient in Gem hospital, two kidneys were transplanted to a patient in the KG hospitals.
