It has been just three days since the My Waste My Responsibility project was implemented at the Coimbatore International Airport and the report card so far has been good.
The project was initiated with the aim of managing waste responsibly at the Coimbatore International Airport. As part of this project, persons employed by NGO Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC) collect waste that is generated at this airport and transport it to a segregation unit.
On Day 1, a total of 177 kilos of waste was collected. Out of this, 67 kilos were organic wastes, 70 kilos were recyclable wastes, and the remaining 40 kilos were non-recyclable waste.
On Day 2, 373 kilograms of waste was collected by the kiosk. Of it, 161 kg were organic waste, 163 kg were recyclable wastes, and only 49 kg were non-recyclable waste. On the third day, 150 kg of organic waste, 149 kg of non-recyclable waste, and 473 kg of recyclable waste was recovered.
