New commissioner for Rly safety takes charge

K.A. Manoharan took over as the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore.

According to a press release from Southern Railway, Manoharan will look after the Southern Railway, South Western Railway, Bangalore Metro Railway, Chennai Metro Railway and Kochi Metro Railway divisions.

Prior to this, he worked as chief signal and telecommunication engineer/construction in Southern Railway.

Born in Erode, Manoharan graduated from the Madras University in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He is an Officer of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers, 1982 batch and has completed National Management Programme at Management Development Institute in Gurgaon.

His career began in North East Frontier Railway and held various posts in Railway as Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer/Construction, South Western Railway, Bangalore Cantonment, Chief Workshop Manager and Chief Signal Engineer.
