New facilities at Salem Junction opened

Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched a number of facilities at the Salem Junction and Samalpatti railway stations today.
The new extended foot overbridge connecting the second entry and the VIP lounge in Salem Junction and the new foot over bridge at Samlpatti were among the amenities dedicated to the nation, said a Salem Division statement.
The function was conducted at Salem Junction through video conference from New Delhi in the presence MPs and MLAs.
Suresh Prabhu expressed his happiness and satisfaction that the railways was able to provide more facilities to passengers in Tamil Nadu. He hoped more facilities would be made available to the people of the State.
V Pannerselvam, MP, said: ” I was happy to see the facilities that are being developed by railways in Salem Junction and requested the DRM and railway administration to consider implementing more passenger amenities in Salem Junction.”
