Newly-married youth held for impregnating teenager

Coimbatore : A newly married youth was arrested today under POCSO Act on charges of impregnating a teenaged girl, after promising to marry her.
The parents of the 17-year-old girl took her to a hospital as she complained frequent stomach pain, police said,
Tests revealed that she was in her fourth month of pregnancy and on questioning, revealed the identity of one Balakrishnan, a painter, who was staying near her house in Saibaba Colony, they said.
Based on a complaint, Balakrishnan, who got married only last week, was arrested.
