NIA sleuths are questioning three youths in the city on their suspected links with an IS operative arrested a fortnight ago in Kannur, Kerala.

The sleuths already quizzed 13 youths, residing in and around GM Nagar in South Ukkadam in the city, over the last 10 days on their reported links with Abu Basheer, one of the six arrested from Kannur. The youths were on Basheer’s contact list.

The team had already questioned a college and law college student, as their names were found in the telephone list of Basheer and they also had posted objectionable issues on social media. The NIA team reportedly seized electronic gadgets, like laptops and mobile phones, which could be useful in a further probe, police said.

After their 11-day inquiry in the city, the sleuths are likely to leave for Kochi this evening.
