The Commissioner of Police A. Amalraj has said that no protests, public gatherings, processions or any kind of demonstrations will be allowed for 15 days starting Wednesday.

In a release, the CoP said that any political or communal outfit that carries out such processions without the knowledge of the city police would be strictly dealt with between 16.12.2015 and 30.02.2106.

However, those who want to stage such demonstrations could do so by obtaining prior permission from the CoP in person, five days ahead of the protest date.

It may be noted that the CoP had issued such orders earlier from the December 2 and 16 sighting security reasons.
