No public exam for 5th and 8th standard students

Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Education Minister, K A Sengottaiayan on Friday reiterated the Government stand of not not holding public examination for fifth and eight standards.

There is no public examinations for 5th and 8th Standard and information being circulated is incorrect, the Government has not issued any order in this regard, Sengottaiayn told reporters at the City Airport.

The Centre had clarified that it is the prerogative of the State government to hold public examinations for these standards, he said.

When asked whether there was the possibility of public exams to be held next year, he categorically said that it was not only this year but it will never happen.
