The Helping Hearts Trust has spearheaded a new campaign for the rural community in Coimbatore where they have been collecting sparsely used garments dropped in their collection boxes placed in Thulasi pharmacies all over the city. The team does a through quality check and launders them. These dresses are then displayed like a retail clothing outlet for students. Each student is allowed to pick two dresses. The enthusiastic students rejoiced looking at the shop-like set up that gave them an opportunity to pick dresses of their choice.

M. Ganesh, Managing Trustee of Helping Hearts Trust, told The Covai Post that, the general public and various school teachers who witnessed this initiative, invited the Helping Hearts team to conduct this camp in Tribal areas around Coimbatore district.

He said that the team is planning to organize camps every alternate week in selected rural communities .The aim of the drive is “empathize with people, not to sympathize them”, he stated.

Ganesh added that the Helping Hearts team is looking to extend this initiative so that they could supply other essentials like school stationary, unused and unexpired medicines among others.
