National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Sri Ramakrishna Polytechnic College, (SRPTC), recently organized a series of medical camps for the weaker sections of society. The medical camps were organized from January 8 to 14 at Palamalai Ranganathan Temple.
A release from the SNR & Sons Trust said that several doctors from various hospitals in the city were volunteers at the various camps. Doctors from The Eye Foundation, organized an eye camp. The dental camp was conducted by Sri Ramakrishna Dental Hospital. Dr. Sam Richard organized a veterinary camp.
Volunteers and members of Mercy Home conducted an awareness campaign for the public on the ways to prevent HIV/AIDS. In order to sensitize the public about disaster management, S. Devika, Head of Department, Basic Science Engineering, SRPTC, delivered a lecture on disaster and crisis management.
