Obstetrics and Neo Natal Care unit inaugurated at Mettupalayam GH

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday inaugurated the much awaited Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neo Natal Care unit at the Mettupalayam Government Hospital through video conferencing.
The hospital that has been functioning since September 19, 1963, now has 146 beds with three intensive care units.
Dr. S. Seralathan, Chief Medical Officer told The Covai Post that with the opening of the new unit, 30 more beds have been added – 15 each for both the sections. “Earlier serious cases were referred to CMCH. But from now on we can handle such cases in our hospital itself,” he added.
District Collector T.N. Hariharan, Mettupalayam MLA O.K. Chinnaraj and several officials were present.
