The officials discussed the issue in Udhagamandalam in nearby Nilgiris district on how to prevent the reported frequent movement of the Moists in the villages bordering the three States, police sources said.

Besides monitoring the movement of Maoists, steps should be taken to provide basic amenities and other facilities to the tribals living in the border and forest areas, they said.

The meeting also discussed to involve the tribals to provide information to the officials about the movement of strangers, so that precautionary measures can be taken, sources said.
