Opera Mini gets Tamil version

Covai Post Network

Chennai: Opera Mini has announced that its users can now browse through Tamil content directly from the news section on the home screen of the browser.

A press release here said that this feature, in addition to Tamil, is already available in English and Hindi. Its news feed aggregates news from online sources, enabling users to get real-time updates to stay in touch with the latest happenings. It can be customised to display news across categories, such as news, travel, arts, sports, business, science and technology, and entertainment.

“The landscape of Indian Internet is changing vastly. As more and more users log in from smaller cities and rural towns, the demand for localised content is expected to increase. Opera aims to cater to these audiences by offering content in their preferred language,” says Sunil Kamath, vice-president, South and Southeast Asia at Opera.
