Though V.K. Sasikala becoming General Secretary of the AIADMK is an internal matter of that party, she should not become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Tamil film actor-director and President of Lakshya Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam, T. Rajendar, said today.
The people of Tamil Nadu had given the mandate to the late Jayalalithaa and the MLAs should take note of this and act judiciously, Rajendar told reporters here.
Moreover, the people of the State were praying against Sasikala becoming the CM, he said.
Stating that he did not know what type of treatment was given to the late Chief Minister during her last 72 days in the hospital, Rajendar asked why Chief Minister, O Paneerselvam, who had announced an inquiry commission into the incident failed to do so in the last two months.
Rajendar, here to participate in a demonstration organised by the party against the construction of a dam across Bhavani river by Kerala, said that this will seriously affect the inflow of water for drinking and irrigation for the three districts of Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode.
He asked why the Centre and State governments were remaining mute spectators on the issue.
