Coimbatore : Shakthi Sena Hindu Makkal Iyakkam today appealed to the district administration to give permission to celebrate the annual Vinayaga Chathurthi festival falling on August 22.
A few functionaries submitted a petition in this regard, which said that many Hindu festivals went uncelebrated due to the pandemic and the administration should allow to celebrate Vinayaga Chathurthi in a grand manner.
They also sought permission to install Ganesh idols at new places so that more people can offer their prayers.
