M. Shahul zonal organizer PFI said that most of the inmates at the Coimbatore Central Prison were subjected to torture. He alleged that the Superintendent of Prisons D Palani and Deputy Superintendent of Prison SR Selva Kumar had moved them to another cell to beat up the inmates.

He further stated that prisoners Iyappan, Sadaiyan, Mani, and Senthil were cruelly abused physically and mentally and now they are undergoing a treatment at the jail hospital.“Human Right Activists have the evidence to file a Petition to the government and the government should immediately take action against the officials who are involved in such violations,” he said.
