PHCS to have dental units soon

The Tamil Nadu Government has decided to set up dental units at all upgraded Public Health Centres in the State.

Replying to a question from Mailam MLA R. Masilamani during the question hour in the Assembly today, Health Minister Dr. C. Vijaya Baskar said in the first phase, dental units would be started at 50 PHCs in various parts of the State.

To Lalgudi MLA A. Soundarapandian’s question, Electricity Minister P. Thangamani said that transformers with defects were being replaced. Uninterrupted power was being supplied to consumers all over the State due to the steps taken by the Government led by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he said.

Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani said that Rs. 21,478 crore worth drinking water projects had been implemented across the State in the last five years, while replying to a query raised by Pudukottai MLA Periyannan Arasu.

In his reply to Chengam MLA M.P. Giri, Minister for Rural Industries K.T. Rajenthra Balaji said steps were being taken to set up a SIDCO industrial estate at Chengam constituency.
