PMK pins hope on Cauvery Water Management Board to solve crisis

Setting up of the Cauvery Water Management Board is the only solution to the vexed Cauvery water dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, PMK MP and former union minister, Anbumani Ramadoss said today.

“It was very sad that Tamil Nadu government remained a mute spectator in the violence against Tamils in Karnataka following the release of Cauvery water a week ago,” Anbumani told reporters in Tirupur. The only solution, he said, to the century-old dispute was the constitution of the Cauvery
Management Board.

“However the BJP-led government will not take any initiative to set up the board, since the party was aiming to capture power in Karnataka in the next assembly elections,” he accused.

Accusing Tamil Nadu of failing to constitute an all-party meeting in this issue, Anbumani Ramadoss said that the state government should immediately approach the Supreme Court in this regard.
