The City police have appealed to those holding licence for arms to renew their licences that are expiring on December 31, 2016, failing which legal action would be initiated.

Those who are not able to get their licenses renewed before the said period, shall deposit their weapons with nearest arms dealers or respective jurisdictional police station, so as to prevent themselves from unlawfully retaining or possessing such weapons. They must immediately apply thereafter for renewal, police said.

Licensees, who were residing in the city and have not renewed due to the change of residence shall report the fact immediately to the City Police Commissioner.
