Polling started in all the booths in the state with mild to heavy showers in a few districts, here on Monday.

After all the arrangements made by the Election Commission, polling started as early as 7.00 am in all the booths in the state, with full protection. Celebrities including actors Ajith and Rajinikanth were among the first to cast their votes in the respective booths.

Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni also cast his vote early as District Collectors of all the districts voted.

Special arrangements, including ramp and wheel chairs for the differently-abled, drinking water, and sanitary facilities were made by the Election Commission. Voters too began to arrive early in the morning to cast their votes in what could be one of the toughest elections in history of the state.
