Poppy’s hotel sets record with 63 ft tall Christmas tree

While it is common to have Christmas trees at restaurants and hotels this time around the year, Poppys hotel has achieved a world record by installing a 63 ft tall Christmas tree to welcome its guest for Christmas.

Joining hands with Dream Flowers events, Poppys hotel has entered the Universal Achiever’s book of records for installing the tallest Christmas tree at Atrium CafeGardenia, the in house coffee shop of Poppys hotel.

Mr. R Jayaraman, Operations Manager, Poppys group of hotels said, “A team of 30 members worked on this tree for a week’s time. The tree weighs 1.2 tonnes and the entire tree is made out of steel frames and other firm objects. The tree is decorated with Christmas accessories like balls, Santa faces, Stars and gifts.”

He mentioned that about 100 balls, 150 stars and 60 Santa faces has been used to decorate the tree. The aim is to bring Coimbatore to limelight and he added that they are also aiming for Guinness World Records.

The hotel is also planning to give a small surprise for its guests during this season in the form of discounts, special offers, and free – bees.

The tree will be in display at Poppys hotel till January 2nd, a LCD monitor for a panaromic view has been placed adjacent to the tree.
