Premavathy Vijayan is VC for Avinashilingam Varsity

Premavathy Vijayan today assumed charge as the vice-chancellor of Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education University here. She will hold the post till August 9, 2021.
The 60-year old Premavathy, who is a distinguished professor and HOD in the Department of Special Education from 1995-2015, was acting- vice-chancellor of the university from August 2015.
She was honored with National Award for Empowerment of persons with disability and Shiksha Ratan Award in 2010, Best Teacher’s Award for Disabled persons and Commonwealth Fellowship for Diploma in Scotland by British Council.
