Chennai: All the DMK legislators, including the leader of the Opposition, MK Stalin, were evicted en masse from the House after a commotion that followed the remark made by an AIADMK legislator on the Nammaku Naame campaign.

Once they were evicted, Finance Minister O. Panneerselvam moved a resolution seeking the suspension of all DMK legislators, for disrupting the proceedings. Speaker P. Dhanapal ordered the suspension of the DMK MLAs for the rest of the week.

Speaking to the journalists outside the House, Stalin said that the eviction and suspension was a planned move aimed at preventing the DMK legislators from raising serious issues. He accused the ruling party of making rude comments to provoke the DMK MLAs, and pointed out that the AIADMK legislators were sometimes forced to withdraw their comments.
