Realtor arrested for harassing KR Vijaya’s daughter

A real estate businessman has been arrested for harassing a woman, daughter of popular film actress, K R Vijaya. The realtor had been compelling her to marry him.
The 47-year old Hemalatha was staying alone in an apartment on Avanashi Road in the city, police said.
The realtor, Kathirvel, who was already married had his office a few kms away from her apartment in Papanaickenpalayam. He had approached Hemalatha in the pretext of selling land some days ago.
Learning that the woman was staying alone, with children abroad, Kathirvel sought her hand, saying that he wanted to get married into the family of actor KR Vijaya and if she agreed, he was ready to divorce his wife, police said.
A surprised and shocked Hemalatha immediately lodged a complaint with police, who registered a case under Atrocities against Women Act and arrested Kathirvel last night, they said.
He was produced before a court and remanded to custody, police added.
