Recall petition dismissed, actors asked to appear before Court

The Judicial Magistrate Court here today dismissed the petition filed by eight Tamil actors seeking to recall the non bailable warrants against them in a defamation case filed by a journalist some eight years ago.

Magistrate Senthilkumar Rajavel, a couple of days ago, issued NBWs against actors, including Satyaraj, Surya and Sarathkumar, for not appearing before the court in connection with the case.

On behalf of he actors, advocate Vishwanathan had filed a recall petition in the court yesterday and arguments were completed this evening.

After the hearing arguments from both the parties, Senthilkumar dismissed the petition and asked the actors to appear on or before June 17, the date of next hearing.
