Rs.1.37 lakh fine on traders for storing 1,500 kgs of banned plastic products

In its drive against the sales of plastic products below 50 micron, the city corporation has seized a little over 1,500 kgs of products during the last one week.

The officials have raided a total 676 shops and commercial establishments in Corporation limits and seized 1,506 kgs of plastic materials, which were banned from May one.

The officials also imposed a penalty of Rs.1.37 lakh to the violating shops, an official release said.

The raids were conducted from May 27 to June 2, it said.
