Rs 2cr banned currency seized

Kochi: Banned currency worth around Rs 2 crore was seized by police at Kayamkulam. The seizure was made during screening of vehicles on the highway based on a tipoff.
The notes were of Rs 1,000 denomination. Two persons in the car were detained. On questioning them, police detained three others later.
Police had seized banned notes from Cherthala recently. They are examining whether the accused had any link with that.
