Rubbercon 2015, an international conference on rubber technology, with the theme, “Shaping the Future through Innovative Technology,” will be organized by the Indian Rubber Institute (IRI) at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai from March 1 – 3, 2016. The official designated conference of the International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO), London, was originally scheduled for the first week of December 2015, but was postponed due to the heavy rains that lashed the city.

Addressing the media, Mr. P.K. Mohamed, Chief Convener of Rubbercon said, “The convention will focus on new technology and will help all members to understand and take advantage of the expertise available from around the globe. The previous conference held in Manchester, U.K. in 2014, had the theme, ‘Advanced engineering and materials developments’.”

The conference is divided into four sessions, namely Business, Plenary, Technical, and Educational Courses. More than 150 delegates from all over the world are expected to attend this year’s meet.

“One of the main aims of the conference is to educate and benefit the young professionals in small and medium scale rubber industry through the symposia. Also, experts in relevant fields will present papers on the latest developments in the Rubber Industry,” Mohamed said.

The conference is supported by corporate houses including Reliance Industries, Apollo, CEAT, MRF, JK Tyres, and Exxon Mobil.
