Run women run!

Inspired by the participation that they received for their debut marathon, GEM Hospitals, Coimbatore, is organizing their second marathon. There is still plenty of time for the World Women’s Day, but the hospital is keen on focussing on spreading awareness about health and fitness among women through this marathon.
The marathon is open only for women. Participants can opt for either the five-kilometre or the seven kilometre run. Depending on their age and occupation, the women will be divided into four categories – school girls, college women, women below 39 years of age, and women above 40.
The marathon is scheduled to be held on January 24. The two categories will be flagged off from the GEM Hospital premises. Participants in both the categories will touch Race Course and the marathons will end at GEM Hospital premises. There is no registration fee. The hospital has plans to give away cash prize to the best runners in each of the categories.
