A total of 37 SFI workers were arrested today, while attempting to stage demonstration in front of State Bank of India (SBI), in protest against the bank authorising Reliance to recover the student loans.

The students, including a few girls, raised slogans against SBI for handing over the recovery procedure to Reliance, a corporate house which itself owed money to the tune of crores of Rupees to the bank, police said.

The protesters were arrested when they were proceeding to the bank, and released later.
