Ooty : The District court here today remanded Sayan and Manoj, two key accused in the Kodanadu murder and heist case to judicial custody till Mach four.

The accused, who was absconding for the last two weeks, were arrested by Kothagiri police in Nilgiris district from Thrissur in Kerala last evening and produced before the District Judge P Vadamalai around 11 PM yesterday.

After hearing the arguments from both the Government and defense counsels over the arrest, Vadamalai allowed the duo to be in police custody till this morning.

Both the accused were produced before the judge this morning, who remanded them to judicial custody till March 4. The accused are being taken to Coimbatore Central Jail.

The district court had cancelled the bail granted to Sayan and Manoj, as appealed by the Govenrment for fear of tampering with the evidence and also influencing the witnesses, after they in a CD linked Chief Minister, Edapadi Palanisamy to the murder and heist case in an interview with former Tehelka Editor, Mathew Samuel.

Since then both of them were absconding without appearing before the Judge in the case, who in turn issued arrest warrant.
