Septuagenarian AIADMK functionary ends life

Unable to bear the reports on the health condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, a septuagenarian, hardcore AIADMK activist ended his life by consuming poison in Tirupur district.
Vellayappan, 70, a former town secretary of AIADMK in Tirupur, seemed dejected ever since Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. Increasingly aggrieved by the daily health reports and also the rumours, he consumed poison yesterday in his house in Sholayur, near Udumalpet, police said. Relatives and neighbours admitted him to the district government hospital in Tirupur, but he died in the hospital in the evening, police said.
