Seven foreign tourists engage charter Nilgiris train

Coimbatore : Seven foreign tourists on Wednesday engaged the special charter train services from Mettupalayam to Ooty, the second in the last three months.
Out to promote and develop hill tourism in the Nilgiris, the Salem Division of Southern Railways offers charter trains on Nilgiris Mountain Rail at Rs 2.85 lakh for one-way trip.
A newly married couple had become the first customer of the charter train in September last to spend their honeymoon in the hills.
The tourists travelled from Mettupalayam to Ooty, organised by Travel Pals, Delhi, paying Rs 2.85 lakh, a division statement here said.
The tourists were provided with a welcome kit and taken around Rail Museum there and were later taken to Ooty. The tourists expressed their heartfelt joy about the journey.
