COIMBATORE: Two people were killed on the spot when a truck dashed against the motorcycle in which they were travelling on Monday.

According to sources, R Ajay (20) and his sister Malathi (21) were on their way to Murugan temple in Palani in their two-wheeler. When they were on the Pollachi-Udumalpet Road, a truck – which was on its way to Anamalai from Theni – rammed against their bike, killing the siblings on the spot. The truck driver fled the spot.

The two, along with their relatives, were planning to celebrate Ajay’s birthday by having a darshan of the Lord.

Police registered a case and have launched a manhunt to trace the driver.
