Six people were injured, five of them seriously, in a multiple collision, involving three water tankers and a car near Botanical Garden today.

A speeding water tanker suddenly hit a parked tanker, which hit two tankers in front of it and also another car parked on roadside, police said.

Under the impact of the collision, six persons in the parked tanker were injured with two losing their legs. They were rushed to the government hospital and then shifted to Coimbatore Government Hospital, police added.

Technical snag was said to be the reason for the tanker losing control, they said.
