In the fourth attack in less than two weeks, six Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan navy on Thursday on charges of violating the international boundaries. The arrest comes barely days after the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister wrote a letter to the Prime Minister regarding the constant attacks on the fishermen.

The Sri Lankan navy personnel also seized the fishing boats of the six fishermen from Rameshwaram, in addition to chasing away more than 50 other fishermen and damaging their fishing equipment.

21 Indian fishermen have been arrested in the past two weeks and are lodged in Sri Lankan prisons.
