Six nominations filed on first day in the district

A total of six nominations were filed in four out of 10 Assembly constituencies in the district, on the first day today.
In Sulur constituency, Kavithamani of Hindu Makkal Katchi, K. Natarajan, independent candidate, and M. Selvamurugan of CPIML filed nominations, official sources said.
R. Nandakumar of BJP filed nomination from Kavundapalayam constituency. In Coimbatore North independent candidate V. Krishnan filed his nomination, they said.
From Pollachi Assembly constituency, Nithyanandan of Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi has filed three set of nominations, the sources said.
No nominations were filed from Coimbatore South, Singanallur, Kinathukadavu, Valparai and Mettupalayam.
