Coimbatore : People in different parts of city were on Saturday put to hardship as majority of ATMs did not function.

State Bank of India (SBI) and Indian Bank ATMs near the District Collectorate failed to deliver cash and customers were found struggling for want of money police said.

Inquiry revealed a similar situation in other parts of the city, they said.

When contacted, SBI sources said they were examining the fault, which could be due to network problem. Meanwhile, an ATM near city railway station has turned into home for drunkards, and a person was found sleeping inside.
