In yet another case of ill-treatment of a Tamil woman in Saudi Arabia, an 18-year old diploma student has sought the help of the District Administration on Monday to rescue his mother.

G. Nagaraj, a student of the Puliampatti Diploma Computer Engineering College, along with his classmates, came to submit a petition to the District Revenue Officer T. Christy Raj in the absence of District Collector Archana Patnaik.

“My mother, G. Bharathi had gone to Saudi Arabia along with three women through Chitendran from Chennai to work as a nurse,” he said.

However, Bharathi and the other women were forced to work as house maids.

“They could not work as hard as they were demanded by their owners, and Shanthi, a woman who went with my mother returned home with a leg injury,” he added.

His mother was not allowed to return. But she had managed to send a distress audio via phone stating her situation.

“My father is already suffering from illness and my brother G. Hemachandran, studying in Standard X, and I are forced to live with my grandmother. I request the District Administration to rescue her as soon as possible considering my family situation,” he added.
