Southern Railway inspections

Southern Railways general manager Vashishta Johri conducted an inspection at Palakkad division today, and went on to assess the progress of gauge conversion work in the Pollachi to Podanur section, with the officers from the Southern Railway Construction wing, Chennai.
He noted that the gauge conversion will be completed by January, and expressed hope that the Railway Safety Commissioner would inspect the completed track in February.
At Palakkad Junction, the general manager inspected the new platform No 1, waiting halls, retiring rooms, TTE rest rooms and the concourse area.
A review meeting with the divisional railway manager and officers of Palakkad Division is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
