A spotted deer was found lying seriously injured reportedly attacked by stray dogs near Bharathiar University on the outskirts, today.
Forest department staff noticed the deer and took it to a guard’s quarters, where necessary treatment was given, police said.
The six-year old deer was seen writhing in pain, with injuries on its neck, which was swollen. It seemed like it had taken a fall from the compound wall of the hostel in the university, while running for its life, may be a few days ago, they said.
The deer has also injuries on its chest and body, caused while rushing through barbed fence in its bid to escape from the dogs.
