Forest department staff noticed the deer and took it to a guard’s quarters, where necessary treatment was given, police said.

The six-year old deer was seen writhing in pain, with injuries on its neck, which was swollen. It seemed like it had taken a fall from the compound wall of the hostel in the university, while running for its life, may be a few days ago, they said.
