Student wins at national-level design competition

P. Vasudevan, a Third Year Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering student of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, has won the bronze medal in environmental engineering in the national-level design competition.

According to the college press release, the competition was organized by the National Design Forum of Institution of Engineers (India). Vasudevan won the award for his innovative proposal for efficient power generation using perpetual motion of simple pendulum. The project was guided by Dr. K. Srinivasan, Professor and Head Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Vasudevan is now trying to develop the model and commercialize it.

The award was given to him at the 23rd Institution of Engineers Convention, held at Dharwad, Karnataka recently.
