Students held for demo supporting farmers

A group of students and youth were taken into custody after they staged a demonstration `seeking justice for the farmers from the State agitating in New Delhi for the last 16 days”.
The demonstration was held in the Race Course where there is a strong police posse around VOC Park ground, the venue of the jallikkattu agitation two month ago.
Police has been posted in the area to as there could be a jallikattu-like agitation in support of farmers. Since Section 144 was clamped on areas VOC Park, the youth held the demonstration near Race Course. Police rushed to the spot and took the youth into custody.
Meanwhile, college and school students in Pollachi are collecting signatures from the public in support of the farmers. They have targeted 10,000 signatures and propose to send the memorandum to the Central and State governments, police said.
